OK, so my favourite site, the Huffington Post, has gone all RIGHT WING!!!!

Who ever thought that THAT would have happened.

Maybe the Mayans were right.

Uncle Bobby

How's this for a little bit of nostalgia?

Recent Dreams

Lately I've been having dreams that are populated entirely by people named Fred.

Male, female...doesn't matter.

They're all named Fred.

Even their pets.

Song to the Siren

On the floating shipless oceans
I did all my best to smile
'til your singing eyes and fingers
Drew me loving to your isle

And you sang
Sail to me
Sail to me
Let me enfold you
Here I am
Here I am
Waiting to hold you

Did I dream you dreamed about me?
Were you here when I was for sail?
Now my foolish boat is leaning
Broken lovelorn on your rocks,

For you sang, 'touch me not,
Touch me not, come back tomorrow:
O my heart, o my heart
Shies from the sorrow'

When I'm as puzzled as a newborn child
I'm as riddled as the tide.
Should I stand amid the breakers?
Or should I lie with death my bride?

Hear me sing, swim to me,
Swim to me, let me enfold you.
Here I am, here I am,
Waiting to hold you

- Tim Buckley

Poem

I used to be so handsome
before the razors came
to shave away the brilliance
and take me from the frame
and though there's only scars now
I still feel all the pain
for I used to be so handsome
and shall never be again

I Dreamed....

I dreamed
that someone
dreamed of me
but it was just ...
a dream

A Couple of Favorite Poems....

Ample Make This Bed

Ample make this bed.
Make this bed with awe;
In it wait till judgment break
Excellent and fair.

Be its mattress straight,
Be its pillow round;
Let no sunrise' yellow noise
Interrupt this ground.

- Emily Dickinson

Adrift! A little boat adrift!

Adrift! A little boat adrift!
And night is coming down!
Will no one guide a little boat
Unto the nearest town?

So Sailors say—on yesterday—
Just as the dusk was brown
One little boat gave up its strife
And gurgled down and down.

So angels say—on yesterday—
Just as the dawn was red
One little boat—o'erspent with gales—
Retrimmed its masts—redecked its sails—
And shot—exultant on!

- Emily Dickinson

...excellent....and fair.

Two out, bottom of the ninth.

Naturally....I lost the game.
God Only Knows
(Joe Henry)

Darkness settles on the ground
Leaves the day stumbling blind
Coming to a quiet close
And maybe just in time
We almost lost the heart to know
How to keep our best in mind
We almost lost the heart to know
How to keep our best in mind

Time has turned an angry face
Throws a dark eye back to sea
But What will pass for mercy now
We practice unforgivingly
As if might and will make right
Or either one could make us free
As if might and will make right
Or either one could make us free

Lovers laugh and cross this way
They're weaving out into the street
It seems we never were so young
Or it was never quite so sweet
But the world is always beautiful
When it's seen in full retreat
The worst of life looks beautiful
As it slips away in full retreat

Well God only knows that we can we do
No more or less than he'll allow
Well God only knows that we mean well
God knows that we just dont know how
But I'll try to be your light in love
And pray that is enough for now
But I'll try to be your light in love
And I'll pray that is enough for now

Book to read...

"By Grand Central Station I Sat Down and Wept"

By Elizabeth Smart.
Funny how things go.
Time has taken on a life of its own and flies by with precipitous speed.
Where is everyone?
Where has everyone gone?

Getting old is not fun.
